<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a pulse separation circuit, capable of avoiding complexity in regulation by dynamically regulating a threshold voltage for separating a clock pulse or a synchronization pulse which is superimposed on a serial signal from an input signal. Ž<P>SOLUTION: A pulse separation circuit includes a comparator 2 which compares an input signal Sig1, which is obtained by superimposing a clock pulse 80 on a serial signal 81, with a threshold voltage Vth and outputs the result of the comparison; and a threshold voltage regulating circuit 3, which outputs as the threshold voltage Vth, a voltage of such a voltage value as to separate the clock pulse or a synchronization pulse from the input signal Sig1.
