PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To allow a heat-exchanged fluid to efficiently exchange heat with soil in the ground, in an in-ground heat exchanger in which a heat transfer pipe in which the heat-exchanged fluid flows, is inserted to an outer pipe, and a heat carrier is enclosed in the outer pipe. SOLUTION: The outer pipe (11) is buried in the ground, and the heat transfer pipe (12) in which the heat-exchanged fluid flows, is inserted into the outer pipe (11). In addition, the heat carrier (13) is enclosed in the outer pipe (11). At least a part of the heat transfer pipe (12) is configured by an oblate pipe (12e, 14) or by an oblate body (12e, ...) composed of a compound pipe (15) for which multiple pipes (15a) are aligned in an oblate shape, and kept into contact with an inner circumferential face of the outer pipe (11) at an oblate side of the oblate body (12e, ...).
