A conventional tine for maintaining a large area of turf is formed by cutting a long opening in an intermediate portion of a pipe. In this case, the width of the opening is less than the diameter of the pipe, and this makes a plug formed when the tip of the tine penetrates a turf surface difficult to drop from the opening, tending to clog the opening. A tine comprises a circular tube-like inserting tip section (11) having a tapered shape narrowing toward the tip of the tine, a base end holding section (12) separated from the inserting tip section (11), and a connecting section (13) for connecting the inserting tip section (11) and the base end holding section (12) to each other. The connecting section (13) has an opening (15), and the opening (15) has a circumferential angle of 180 degrees or greater centered on the center axis (a) of an imaginary circular tube-like section (17) obtained by extending a large-diameter section of the inserting tip section (11) toward the base end holding section (12).
|
