<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus, wherein an opening/closing operation of a top cover is easily performed and restriction of the installation position is reduced, while improving maintenance performance of a latent image carrier and the peripheral devices. <P>SOLUTION: The top cover 29 comprises a front holding part 33 and a rear holding part 35. The holding parts 33 and 35 respectively hold LED heads 11. The rear holding part 35 is supported by a housing 3 so that the rear end thereof may be rotated about a first rotating shaft 37, the front holding part 33 is supported by the front end of the rear holding part 35 so that the rear end thereof may be rotated about a second rotating shaft 39. The first rotating shaft 37 and the second rotating shaft 39 are disposed in nearly parallel to each other in a right-left direction. Regarding the top cover 29, the top surfaces of the front holding part 33 and the rear holding part 35 are located at the same level in a closed position where the LED heads 11 performs a writing operation on the latent image carrier 7, and on the other hand, in an open position where the housing 3 is opened, the holding parts 33 and 35 are rotated about the first and second rotating shafts 37 and 39, then, the front holding part 33 is folded with respect to the rear holding part 35. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT |
