<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To optimize refrigerant circulation amount to reduce cost without depending on a pressure sensor during cooling operation at low outside air temperature in a multiple chamber type air conditioner including a plurality of indoor units. <P>SOLUTION: During cooling operation (S1), when the low outside air temperature state is determined as a result of detection of the outside air temperature by an outside air temperature sensor and when temperature of a heat exchanger of the operating indoor unit is below a predetermined value (S4, S5), an opening of an expansion valve of the stopped indoor unit is temporarily increased (S5) to store specific amount of a refrigerant within an indoor heat exchanger of the stopped indoor unit, to sense and prevent excessive decline in low pressure side pressure and a risk of liquid return. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT</p> |
