PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent a communication state notification function from being duplicately executed by two devices executing proximity radio communication. SOLUTION: In proximity radio communication between a proximity radio communication device 20 and an external device, a communication state notification function information acquisition section 112 acquires information on the communication state notification function of the external device by negotiation. A communication state notification function control section 113 requests the external device to execute or suppress the communication state notification function by the external device, based on the acquired notification function information. For example, when the communication state notification function of electronic apparatus 10 is higher than that of the external device, the communication state notification function control section 113 requests the external device to suppress the communication state notification function. When the communication state notification function of the external device is higher than that of the electronic apparatus 10, the communication state notification function control section 113 suppresses the communication state notification function of the electronic apparatus 10 and requests the external device to notify its communication state.
