The pump has an air-water heat exchanger including connections for a flow line and a return line for connecting to a central heater. A ventilator or fan is provided behind the heat exchanger such that hot air can be sucked from a fireplace. The hot air passes through the exchanger and heats the water in the exchanger. The hot air is converted into thermal output. An electronic circuit temperature-dependently controls the ventilator or fan and reduces a temperature of the hot air around 30 degree Celsius.
