The conveyor (1) has a continuous belt mat (3) running on a support frame (2) with upper and lower strands. Drives extend transverse towards the belt mat, project opposite to a belt mat plane and are spaced from each other. A trough is arranged below the belt mat. A steep conveying unit (11) is arranged at a distance towards a deflection unit (5) of the belt mat. The steep conveying unit forms a curved ramp (12) as a supporting body of a drag chain conveyor section. The section is formed between the trough and the upper strand, where the mat operates a pushing body along the section.
