PURPOSE: A drain pump unit for an icing machine is provided to reduce the failure ratio of the drain pump by preventing the repetitive operation of the drain pump by operating the drain pump until the level of water in a water box is lowered. CONSTITUTION: A drain pump unit for an icing machine comprises: a water box(10); a plate type pump housing(30); a top cover; a water storage level; balls for low level, high level and safe level which sense the low level, the high level, and the safe level according to the water level in the water box; a contact(36c) which is installed in the top of the balls and is contacted to the ball when the ball is floated, thereby operating a microswitch(36) for the low/high water level and a micro switch for the safe level; a circular hole(35f) which is formed in the center of a barrier member(35e) which dividing accommodating parts(35c,35d) wherein the balls are received into the top and the bottom and is closed as the ball is floated; and inflow holes(35g) which are formed on the top side of the receiving part in which the ball for the high level is put.
