PURPOSE: A refractory for a molten steel ladle is provided to prevent the insertion of an external inclusion during a melting process by mainly containing a ZrO_2-SiO_2-C system component. CONSTITUTION: A refractory for a molten steel ladle contains 50~70 parts of ZrO_2 by weight, 0.5~5 parts of carbon by weight, and 30~50 parts of either SiO_2 or SiC by weight. A ZrO_2 raw material is formed with either zircon or verdelite. A SiO_2 raw material is formed with either the zircon or quartz. The refractory constructs walls, a floor, or a nozzle of the molten steel ladle.
