<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a nonaqueous electrolyte secondary battery of a 2V class, as a substituting technology for a lead storage battery, which is of a reduced cost and excellent in a high rate cycle life by suppressing mass variation due to charging/discharging. <P>SOLUTION: The nonaqueous electrolyte secondary battery is provided with a positive electrode containing a positive electrode active material of a layer structure represented by formula of Li<SB>1±α</SB>[Me]O<SB>2</SB>, which contains nickel atoms and cobalt atoms at the ratio of 1:1 substantially, (wherein, α is 0≤α<0.2, and Me is a transition metal including at least one kind selected from a group composed of Ni, Mn, Fe, Co, Ti and Cu), and a negative electrode containing a negative electrode active material represented by formula of Li<SB>4</SB>Ti<SB>5</SB>O<SB>12</SB>(Li[Li<SB>1/3</SB>Ti<SB>5/3</SB>]O<SB>4</SB>). <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT |
