<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an auxiliary lock device of a sliding door which is more excellent in crime prevention and allows a user to perceive a fact that a doubtful character who tries to break in a room exists. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The auxiliary lock device 1 of a sliding door includes a mounting board 5 mountable to the indoor-side surface of an outdoor sliding door 2, a lock member 6 vertically rockably provided on the mounting board 5 and freely switching between an unlock position out of the traveling route of an indoor sliding door 3 and a lock position projecting into the traveling route of the indoor sliding door 3, and a lighting member 27 for illuminating light toward either or both of the outdoor side and the indoor side when the indoor sliding door 3 or the outdoor sliding door 2 is opened.
