PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus which achieves uniformity in abrasion states at respective spots on an image bearing body. SOLUTION: When a controller 162Y receives information on temperature and humidity from an environmental sensor 165Y respectively and determines that a photoreceptor roll 11Y is under high temperature and high humidity environment (H/H environment), the controller instructs a voltage applying section 163Y to switch voltage to be applied to the photoreceptor roll 11Y through a charging roll 12Y from superimposed voltage in which DC voltage and AC voltage are superimposed to non-superimposed voltage including only DC voltage.
