PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To fully cast a conductor material, in such a manner that there is no problem concerning energy conservation, productivity, and resource saving, and cast product is not caused to enlarge and the manufacturing cost is not increased. SOLUTION: The method is used to manufacture a squirrel-cage type rotor, by casting the conductor materials for forming conductors to be embedded into slots for rotor cores and short-circuit rings short-circuiting both ends of the conductors, respectively, into a metallic mold 1 (first or fifth unit metallic molds 2 to 6) with the rotor cores. In the method, the metallic mold 1 is coated with an oil-type mold releasing agent 22, and the conductor materials are cast. Since the mold releasing agent 22 is oily and contains no moisture, the temperature drop of the mold 1 by moisture is avoided. Consequently, the problem of flow decrease in a conventional conductor material coating the metallic mold 1 with a water-soluble mold releasing agent is solved, and the conductor materials are cast sufficiently.
