<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a highly versatile air mat which is quick and simply prepared for the working condition in a spot, has a rigid structure, and is applicable to a simple housing and a stretcher with a less load of a carrying person such as a paramedic, and also which, especially, keeps sufficient pressure by a fixed air volume. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The air mat includes: a plurality of air cylinders continuous, substantially flat, and having a length to inflate substantially cylindrical; an air passage connected to the opening parts of the respective air cylinders; and an inflator connected to the air passage; wherein the air cylinders are stored in parallel and an air mat body is inflated at need by mounting the inflator in a suitable position. In the air mat body, a volume adjusting part reduced in inside diameter to adjust the whole air volume in one ends in the longitudinal direction of the drum parts of the air cylinders and also only in the outer air cylinders is provided. Interval between the air cylinders on the most outer sides in the width direction of the air cylinders and the air cylinders existing on the inner sides of the most outer side air cylinders are made to be larger than intervals between the respective air cylinders in the center part.
