<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of manufacturing a catalyst for synthesizing methacrylic acid with high selectivity of methacrylic acid. <P>SOLUTION: The method of manufacturing the catalyst with a specific composition for synthesizing methacrylic acid includes: a step of mixing a solution or a slurry (A solution) containing at least molybdenum, phosphor, and vanadium with a solution or a slurry (CI solution) containing a Z element to prepare an A-CI mixed solution; a step of mixing the A-CI mixed solution with a solution or slurry (B solution) containing ammonium to prepare an A-CI-B mixed solution; a step of mixing the A-CI-B mixed solution with a solution or slurry (CII solution) containing a Z element to prepare a D solution; and a step of drying the D solution and heat-treating the resulting material, wherein the amount of ammonium in the D solution is set to be 0.5 to 5 mols based on 12 mols of molybdenum and the pH of the D solution is set to be 2.0 or less. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT |
