<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electric power steering device capable of continuously performing stable steering operation even in abnormality of a torque sensor. <P>SOLUTION: A current instruction value operation part 45 is provided with: a converted steering angle operation part 51 for operating a converted steering angle θcnv obtained by converting a rotation angle θm of a motor 21 to a steering angle θs of a steering wheel; and a steering angle control part 52 for executing position control operation based on the converted steering angle θcnv and the steering angle θs. When abnormality of the torque sensor is detected, the current instruction value operation part 45 switches a control signal made as a basis of the current instruction value Iq* from a basic assist control amount Ias* to a steering angle control amount Ipo*. Besides, on the steering control part 52, an offset operation part 56 is provided.
