PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To retain reliability and integrity of information in restoring barcode image.

SOLUTION: The image processing apparatus includes: an information acquisition unit 101 for acquiring image information; a barcode recognition unit 121 for recognizing a barcode which is contained in the acquired image information; a barcode image generating unit 123 which decodes an extracted coding information and generates a restored barcode by coding the decoded information; and an image information generating unit 124 for generating an image of the restored barcode by overlaying the restored barcode with an original image at a different layer.
