PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid crystal display device that is free from causing a path in a sealing agent for sealing the filling port of a liquid crystal. SOLUTION: The liquid crystal display device includes: first and second substrates arranged oppositely to each other while holding the liquid crystal between them; and a sealing material which is arranged between the first and second substrates and used for filling the liquid crystal. The filling port to be sealed by the sealing agent is formed in a part of the sealing material. An insulation film is formed on the liquid crystal-side of the first substrate, so that the insulation film is formed beyond a sealing material-formed area and is separated from the end of the first substrate by a value of >0 mm and <0.5 mm. The insulation film consists of the laminate of a plurality of insulation films containing an organic insulation film. The organic insulation film, at least, has≥2μm thickness and is formed such that the organic insulation film is receded from the end of the first substrate by a value of≥0.5 mm in a portion where the filling port of the sealing material is formed.
