PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a capacitance type input device which does not impair input operation even when an insulator is used and a method of manufacturing the same. SOLUTION: The capacitance type input device includes a pressed layer 1 which is pressed, a pattern layer 2 laminated on a rear surface of the pressed layer 1, and a capacitor layer 10 laminated on the pattern layer 2 and having a dielectric body 12 interposed between a pair of electrode bodies 11, 11A. The pressed layer 1, pattern layer 2, and capacitor layer 10 are formed respectively so as to deform in a lamination direction. A change in capacitance of the capacitor layer 10 is detected to convert into an input signal. The capacitor is not structured of a sensor and a contacting finger, but the capacitance is changed by deformation of the capacitor layer 10 in accordance with pressing operation. Therefore, even when insulating gloves are put on or a prosthetic hand is used, the change in the capacitance is securely detected. COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT
