PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cartridge element and a dust collector using the cartridge, achieving down-sizing, effectively dispersing dust, and being simple in the structure and handling. SOLUTION: The cartridge element forms a flat plate as a whole, and is constituted of a flat filter 1 made of a cylindrically-formed pleated sheet-like filter medium pleated and formed into tubular shape, a cap 2 and an upper-end member 3 that hold openings in a direction perpendicular to the fold lines of the pleats, in a flat shape, and a reinforcing members 4 that is a resin pipe or round bar that is transversely provided in the flat filter 1.
