PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a bird repellent device to be installed on a veranda or the like, easy to install and make maintenance, and feeling neither a sense of oppression or incompatibility for dwellers as if they were locked indoors. SOLUTION: In an opening area such as a veranda of a building, a first wire is set up, along the rim of the upper opening of the opening area, under the upper opening; a second wire is set up, along the rim of the lower opening of the opening area, above the lower opening, and the first wire is situated above the second wire; for the respective first and second wires, at least one of the wires' ends is fixed via a fixing unit, onto the wall or the like of the building; and the respective first and second wires are fitted with a plurality of thin-yarn guides, wherein thin yarns are folded back via the corresponding respective guides, and set up over along the longitudinal directions of the wires and while reciprocating zigzag-fashion between the first wire and second wire, and by the fixing unit, the respective tensions of the first and second wires are adjusted.
