<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the problem that proper compensation cannot be made for an authorized user, since it cannot be discriminated whether the characteristics of a nonvolatile memory in a nonvolatile storage device has caused to disable to read right information, or the intentional destruction or alteration of the data of right information by a malicious user has caused to disable to read right information. <P>SOLUTION: A memory controller 25 performs analysis processing for determining whether the "failure" of right information reading processing is caused by a nonvolatile memory 27, and accurately detects such a case that right information cannot be read due to the characteristics of the nonvolatile memory. Thus, it is possible to clearly determine whether the characteristics of the nonvolatile memory makes it impossible to read right information, or whether the alternation or intentional destruction of data by a malicious user makes it impossible to read right information by using the detection result obtained by the memory controller 25 for a content use system or the like. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT |
