<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To control physical stress to be applied to a two-component developer without deteriorating the charging property of a replenished toner. <P>SOLUTION: A developing device 2a includes: a developing tank 111, a first stirring member 112, a second stirring member 113, a developing roller 114, a developing tank cover 115, a doctor blade 116, a partition plate 117, electromagnets 118A-118E, and a toner concentration detection sensor 119. A two-component developer moves sequentially through a first region 111A and a second region 111B upon rotation of the first stirring member 112 and the second stirring member 113. In toner replenishment, the second stirring member 113 is rotated at a higher speed than the first stirring member 112, to energize the electromagnets 118A-118E. The two-component developer in the second region 111B receives a large stirring torque from the second stirring member 113 while movement is controlled by a magnetic field formed by the electromagnets 118A-118E, to stir the developer well. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT |
