PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a pneumatic tire for a motorcycle, capable of ensuring high drainage properties and preventing drained water from being stepped again. SOLUTION: A first inclined main groove group 16 including a plurality of first inclined main grooves 14 inclining to the right side and extending toward a left tread end 12E from a tire equatorial plane side and a second inclined main groove group 20 including a plurality of second inclined main grooves 18 inclining to the left side and extending toward a right tread end 12E from a tire equatorial plane side are alternately arranged in the tire peripheral direction. An abrupt inclined groove portion 22 inclining at an angle of 1-8°to the tire peripheral direction is provided at a middle portion of the first inclined main groove 14 in the longitudinal direction. Besides, a tread end side curved groove portion 26 is formed on the tire equatorial plane side and a tread end side curved groove portion 26 is provided on the tread end side. During straight running on a wet road surface, drainage is efficiently performed backward and laterally through the first inclined main groove 14 and the second inclined main groove 18, thus ensuring high drainage properties and preventing drained water from being stepped on again.
