PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an armature, wherein a portion of a coil stored in a slot which becomes hottest is efficiently cooled. SOLUTION: The armature includes an armature core 4 having a plurality of slots 440 formed in oblong shape in circumferential direction with a predetermined interval, a coil 5 entangled in the slot, and a magnetic wedge 60 attached in an open region of the slot so as to confine the coil in the slot.
