<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To achieve the reduction of production cost while securing safety in the production process of ammonium sulfate. Ž<P>SOLUTION: Based on 100 pts.wt. of a separated mother liquid left after the recovery of crystal ammonium sulfate, at least 3 pts.wt. of the separated mother liquid is transferred to a mother liquid tank (4), and the remaining part is returned to the original crystal can (1). The separated mother liquid in the mother liquid tank (4) is brought into oxidation reaction, ammonium sulfamate and organic impurities in the liquid are decomposed. Next, the separated mother liquid is brought into reduction reaction so as to decompose the ammonium sulfate in the liquid, and the mother liquid which is obtained after the reduction reaction and in which the contents of the ammonium sulfate, ammonium sulfamate and organic impurities are reduced is decompressed and cooled, and is returned to the original crystal can (1) as a recovered ammonium sulfate-containing liquid.
