The invention relates to an igniter for well torches used in the field of petroleum equipment that comprises power batteries, a branch box containing the transformation electric circuit with ignition control, extension bellow-type accessories for transmitting electric pulses, and a terminal ignition head generating an electric arc and connected to the end of a so-called torch-line pipe, the latter being part of an equipment mounted on the heads of crude-oil and/or gas wells and related collecting and processing equipment. It is used for determining the moment when the operator prepares the equipment for igniting the torch line, for actuating the control of the igniter, and for igniting the outlet product from a safe distance directly at the torch line and without requiring a rocket gun or a fixed pre-ignition system with a pilot flame. The invention can be used for systems operating in a harsh environment and in remote, restrictive conditions.
