The sound absorber has a passive absorber layer (14) of an absorption layer applied on the flow channel wall (12) and an acoustically permeable covering layer (18). An active anti-sound device is integrated in the absorber layer and below the covering layer. The anti-sound device has multiple anti-sound generators (22) arranged in a ring-shaped manner.
