<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a target tracking device having high tracking accuracy that uses a particle filter. <P>SOLUTION: The target tracking device includes a tracked object specification receiving unit which receives specification of a tracked object; a target color setting unit which sets a target color; an auxiliary target color setting unit which sets auxiliary objects and auxiliary target colors; a tracked object position storage unit which stores an initial position of the tracked object; an auxiliary object position storage unit which stores respective initial positions of the auxiliary objects; a particle filter processing unit which measures a color likelihood determined, by using a particle and comparing the target color with a color of a particle periphery to estimate an area of the tracked object; and measures color-likelihood, determined by comparing the auxiliary target colors with the color of the particle periphery to estimate areas of the auxiliary objects, and an auxiliary object area evaluation unit which excludes an auxiliary object, having a larger difference between the moving vector of the tracked object and the moving vector of the auxiliary object than the reference value from the auxiliary objects. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT</p> |
