PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a polyester composition having excellent yarn-producing properties and stably producing a fiber exhibiting high strength in a yarn production process especially of one step type wherein orientation crystallinity is suppressed when a fiber using a polyester produced by mainly using a titanium catalyst is produced. SOLUTION: In the polyester composition including a polyester (PES), a metal atom, a phosphonic acid compound and particles having a layered structure, the PES is a PES wherein 90% or more of all recurring units which constitutes the PES is an ethylene terephthalate unit and which has intrinsic viscosity of 0.55 dL/g or more, a polyester-soluble titanium atom content is 3 to 30 mmol% to the all recurring units which constitute the PES as Ti metal atoms, a metal atom content of one or two or more selected from the group consisting of manganese, magnesium and zinc is 10 to 1,000 mmol% to the all recurring units which constitute the PES, an antimony element content is less than 15 mass ppm to the polyester composition, the phosphonic acid compound having a specified chemical structure is contained in a range that satisfies a fixed numerical expression and the particles having the layered structure having an interlayer interval of 1 to 100 nm are included.
