PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a halogen-free rubber composition for a hose jacket compatibly maintaining good vulcanization speed and adhesion properties, having sufficient oil resistance, weather resistance and wear resistance, and suitably used as jacket material for hydraulic hose. SOLUTION: The rubber composition for hose jacket contains ethylene-propylene-diene rubber (EPDM) and acrylonitrile-butadiene rubber (NBR) containing nitrile of 40 mass% or less as rubber component. The content of EPDM is 25-40 phr and the content of NBR to whole rubber component is 10-20 mass% in nitrile content.
