PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an active head rest mechanism for a vehicular seat quickly transmitting back rest load of an occupant generated by rear-end collision of a vehicle. SOLUTION: The active head rest mechanism for the vehicular seat 1 is provided with a pressure-receiving member 50 arranged in a seat back 20 and detecting rearward movement of the occupant; and a head rest operation mechanism for operating a head rest 30 toward a rear head part of the occupant by operation of the pressure-receiving member 50. The pressure-receiving member 50 is pivotably retained by a pivoting shaft 51 relative to the seat back 20, and the pressure-receiving member 50 further has points of application where it is rearwardly moved.
