PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce data transmitted or received when a screen to be displayed on a terminal device is updated, and to efficiently perform processing required for compensating the reduced data. SOLUTION: An update data transmission unit 122 in an apparatus 110 transmits update data which indicates the display content in an HMI screen area updated by a server screen update unit 121. Everytime the update data is received by an update data reception unit 136, a terminal screen update unit 137 in a remote terminal 130 selects one of rendering layer objects 135 in an arbitrary sequence. The terminal screen update unit 137 then displays the display content, indicated by the update data, within an area in the selected rendering layer object 135 which corresponds to an area whose display content is indicated by the update data. Further, the terminal screen update unit 137 updates the terminal screen by overlapping the plurality of rendering layer objects 135 in such a manner that the selected rendering layer object 135 comes the top front face, and outputs the updated terminal screen on a display device.
