PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a motor and an electric power steering which can attain cost reduction, weight reduction, improved magnetic characteristics, and operation sound reduction. SOLUTION: The motor includes a stator core 60, formed on a stator 54, a rotor 53 provided in a space defined by the inside the circumferential surface of the stator core 60; a flange member 51 attached to one opening of the stator 54; and a heat-shrinkable tube 15 provided on the outside circumference of the stator 54. The heat-shrinkable tube 15 is made to shrink so as to go into a state where a part of the heat-shrinkable tube 15 covers the stator side edge 51b of the flange member 51.
