PURPOSE: A method for enhancing ginsenoside Rg3 of black ginseng extract is provided to ensure strong anti-cancer activity and to reduce bezoapyrene content. CONSTITUTION: A method for producing black ginseng extract comprises: a step of washing ginseng and separating the ginseng to ginseng body and fine root; a step of drying; a step of steaming at 80-90°C for 8-10 hours; a step of drying at 25-50°C for 3-5 hours; a step of repeating steaming step and drying step 5-12 times; and a step of extracting the black ginseng with a solvent. A pharmaceutical composition for preventing and treating liver cancer contains the black ginseng extract as an active ingredient.
