<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a communication system for increasing communication quality or communication speed by reducing the possibility of a failure of a terminal device. <P>SOLUTION: The communication system 100 includes a terminal device and a network side communication system constituting a part of the communication network. The terminal device and the network side communication system are configured to be communicable using an arbitrary one of a plurality of communication methods. The communication system obtains an electric energy (remaining battery capacity) accumulated in the battery for supplying the electric power to actuate the terminal device (101). When the remaining battery capacity is larger than a first threshold, the communication system selects one of the plurality of communication methods as a first selection communication method. When the remaining battery capacity is smaller than the first threshold, the communication system selects the communication method consuming electric energy less than that of the first selection communication method (102).
