<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical pickup which is manufactured at low cost by reducing the number of parts in the optical pickup provided with two separated optical systems. <P>SOLUTION: The optical pickup 1 has a first optical system 4 and a second optical system 5. The optical axis A of the first optical system 4 and the optical axis B of the second optical system 5 form an angle of 45° with respect to a reference plane and are parallel to each other. A first objective lens 17 and a second objective lens 26 are arranged substantially side-by-side in a radial direction, and the center position of the second objective lens 26 is slightly displaced from the reference plane in a tangential direction. The first optical system 4 and the second optical system 5 have flat beam splitters 13 and 23, respectively, to produce astigmatism for acquiring a focus error signal by the astigmatic method. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT |
