<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve a problem that time required to start an internal combustion engine is prolonged when performing processing for imparting initial rotation to the internal combustion engine by starting a motor generator by a sensorless method. <P>SOLUTION: A parallel hybrid vehicle executes stop control of an internal combustion engine (Step S12) by stopping a motor generator on the basis of a rotation angle θ by a high frequency superimposing method when a stop request of an internal combustion engine is issued (Yes in Step S10). When the internal combustion engine stops, a stop position of the motor generator is stored (Step S18). When a restart request of the internal combustion engine is issued, a rotation angle is estimated by the high frequency superimposing method by employing a stored stop position as an initial value.
