PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a secondary battery capable of easily and safely evacuating an electrolysis solution from a cell case with a simple configuration in recycling the secondary battery. SOLUTION: The secondary battery includes: a safety valve (20) with a thin part where a portion of a vessel (10) housing an electrode bundle and the electrolysis solution is thinned, wherein the safety valve opens by cracking at the thin part due to pressure when the internal pressure of the vessel reaches a predetermined pressure; and a safety valve-opening means (24) which opens the safety valve from the outside of the vessel.
