PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for manufacturing capable of manufacturing a cylindrical battery in high productivity without sticking of a welding electrode to a current collecting plate when the current collecting plate is connected to a battery case. SOLUTION: The maximum diameter of the hollow cylindrical part of an electrode plate group is predetermined to 1/6 to 2/6 of the maximum diameter of the electrode plate group, one first projection and a plurality of second projections projecting to the inner bottom surface side of a cylindrical battery case are formed on the surface facing the inner bottom surface of the cylindrical battery case, a current collecting plate in which the first projection is higher than the second projection is used, and when the current collecting plate is connected to the battery case, the welding electrode whose maximum diameter is 60-100% of the maximum diameter of the hollow cylindrical part of the electrode plate group is used.
