PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a soil improving method increasing the shearing stress and allowable vertical bearing power of a columnar improving body and maintaining the diameter of the columnar improving body small to reduce a burying cost and construction surplus soil. SOLUTION: The soil improving method for improving the soft ground includes steps for: agitating and mixing a cement-based solidifying material and water to produce cement milk; injecting the cement milk into excavated soil while excavating the ground 1, and carrying out agitation and mixing to construct a slurry-like columnar improving body 30; and pressing a reinforced structure 40 into the predetermined depth of the columnar improving body 30 after construction and before solidification of the columnar improving body 30.
