<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an iron which has simple configuration and is mounted with a compact and convenient pump. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The iron includes a base 3 heated by a heater 2 as heating means, a vaporization chamber 4 formed in a base 3, a tank 11 to be a liquid storage portion for storing water as liquid to be supplied for the vaporization chamber 4, and an electric pump 14 for leading water in the tank 11 to the vaporization chamber 4. A primary battery 15 is provided as a drive power supply to be a drive source of the electric pump 14, so that the iron is used for ironing immediately after the temperature of the heater 2 becomes moderate and a use cycle period from mounting the iron on a mounting table 46 to ironing does not need to be extended.
