A solid-state imaging element (image sensor) (100) comprises a pixel section (110), a pixel drive section (120) which can be driven so as to reset, accumulate, transfer, and output the signal charge of the pixel section via control lines, and a pixel signal read section (130) for reading signals of the pixels from the pixel section, wherein the pixel section (110) has a pixel shared structure in which one selection control line, one reset control line, and a plurality of transfer control lines are arranged, and includes a read pixel section and an unread pixel section in the entirety, and wherein the pixel drive section (120) is provided with a pixel control section which usually fixes the unread pixels to a reset state, releases the reset state of the unread pixels and brings the unread pixels into an unread state if the addresses of read pixels in a sharing relationship are selected, or the selection signal becomes active when reading the read pixels therein.
