The format of input images can be appropriately determined and further appropriate output images can be displayed in accordance with a display format available to a displaying unit.  An image format determining unit (120) determines whether the format of images input to an image input unit (110) are the image format of two-dimension display images or the image format of three-dimension display images.  An available display format determining unit (160) determines an available display format with which an image displaying unit (170) can display output images.  An operation input accepting unit (150) accepts, as a designated display format, an output format of the output images to be displayed by the image displaying unit (170).  An output format determining unit (130) determines, based on the image format, available display format and designated display format, an output format of the output images.  An output image creating unit (140) creates, based on the determined output format, the output images from the input images and causes the image displaying unit (170) to display the output images.
