PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To achieve the structure simplification, cost-down and planting performance improvement of a rice transplanter in which seedling trays 12 and planting units 11 for scratching out seedlings for each root from seedling mats on seedling trays to plant the seedlings in a field surface are disposed in a planting apparatus 5 connected to a travel machine frame 2, and the planting units each has a planting rotator 16 rotated on a planting shaft, and planting fingers 18 attached to the planting rotator to rotate on a finger shaft 17 parallel to the planting shaft. SOLUTION: The planting fingers 18 are rotated with electric motors 24 disposed in the planting rotator 16 so that the planting fingers are once rotated during one rotation of the planting rotator 16 in the reverse direction, and the electric motors 24 are rotated at irregular speeds so that the rotation speeds of the planting fingers 18 are reduced at a phase near to the front or rear position of a lower dead point in the planting rotator 16 during one rotation.
