PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an inexpensive overhead travelling device of which the control is simple. SOLUTION: In the travelling device of the cargo conveying machine, a suspending tool is arranged at a tip of a rope and an angle of the rope is detected to travel on a ceiling rail. The travelling device includes a drive unit, the drive unit includes a rail lock, the rail lock is engaged with the ceiling rail and the travelling device outputs a drive force only when the cargo conveying machine starts to travel.
