PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a user interface which can easily perform simple setting of a photographing condition during through display and in which it is easily understandable that shifting from the simple setting to detailed setting is performed, without ending the through display. SOLUTION: A display item for making a photographing condition specific setting during through display in accordance with the setting instruction of the photographing condition (S502) to start clocking of a timer (S505), and an operation for selecting the display item is received (S506 and S509). When a start instruction of detailed setting about the specific setting represented by the selected display item is received (S512 and S513), the clocking of the timer is stopped (S514), detailed setting display for performing the detailed setting is performed in accordance with the start instruction (S5901), an operation for performing the detailed setting is received during the detailed setting display (S906), and when the timer reaches a predetermined time, the display of the display item is stopped (SS518).
