<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To arrange a noncontact memory element (MIC) for recording contents or the like of information recorded in a magnetic tape so that its upper surface forms an angle of 45 degrees with respect to the bottom face of a cartridge according to a request from a recording/reproducing device or the like that uses a magnetic tape cartridge. Ž<P>SOLUTION: A lower case 3 constituting a cartridge case includes a bottom end abutting part that abuts on the bottom end of a MIC 30, and a bottom face abutting part 37 that abuts on the bottom face. An upper case 2 includes an upper face abutting part 36 that abuts on the upper surface of the MIC 30. The MIC 30 is arranged between the abutting parts and the side wall 3A of the lower case 3 so that its upper surface forms an angle of 45 degrees to the bottom face 3B of the cartridge case.
