PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a heat exchanger including an air cleaning function efficiently decomposing odor components without providing an adsorbent layer in a base material, and a method of manufacturing the heat exchanger. SOLUTION: The heat exchanger includes: a core part 5 formed of the base material 71 and performing heat exchange between fluid made to flow inside and air made flow outside; a polyaniline-containing coating film 72 arranged to cover at least part of the base material 71 and including polyaniline and generating active oxygen when coming into contact with water; and holes 73 formed on the polyaniline-containing coating film 72 and having 1-500μm of diameter.
